As a young kid playing in America, I was on the tail end of the first real playing generation - the kids that started playing when they were 6 or 7 and didn't stop. <BR/><BR/>That being the case, we always assumed that you put your big clunky guys in defense...I remember watching Tom Dooley during some rarely televised World Cup 94 qualifying and feeling just how wrong that approach is. <BR/><BR/>He marshaled the defense, penetrated in to the attack, controlled the ball, even scored some goals!
